Back after a long break: what can I skip so I can just play classic BR without menu overload?
I'm an adult player in Texas. I took about a year off and jumped back in this week because I miss playing classic Erangel squads after work. The problem is the game feels like a wall of modes, tabs, downloads, and notifications, and I keep burning my limited playtime just trying to get into a normal match.
I do not want to grind every event or learn a bunch of side modes. I just want a simple routine: open the app, make sure the right resources are installed, queue a classic match (ranked or unranked), play a few rounds, and log off.
Questions:
-
Which downloads are actually required for smooth classic BR now (maps, HD resource pack, etc.), and which can I safely skip without getting stutters or missing textures?
-
Is there a good way to cut down UI clutter, like settings to toggle, prompts to hide, or notifications to disable, or is that something you just learn to ignore?
-
If I only play a few matches some nights, is ranked better for more consistent lobbies, or does unranked feel more forgiving when you are rusty?
If you have a minimal checklist you follow when you reinstall or return to the game, I'd love to copy it. I want this to be a low stress unwind, not a second job.
