Purchasing a used car in the south for transport to the rust belt?
My buddy's car is on its last leg and is dire need of a working vehicle. I've suggested purchasing a used vehicle around me that wouldn't have gone through years of salt exposure and offered to drive it up to him. It looks like he would like to take me up on the offer.
I am trying to figure the logistics of this. I dont think it's feasible for my friend to come down for the purchase. I dont want to get involved with taking ownership and then transferring title once I transport it. Not sure if that is a realistic expectation.
Can my friend make the purchase and insure the vehicle remotely. Not sure if my insurance would cover that car or if I'd have to be put on his? Some of the cars he's interested in seem low in price. Any advice on things I should be doing before recommending he buys?
