Average foodd cost of an Oguri Cap career (MANT edition)

EN Game

Seems innocent enough...

Let's assume we have to pay for Oguri Cap's dinner after every victory. My current oguri mant career is 35 races, of which I usually win 32 to 35 depending on RNG. Let's take an average of 33 lunches to pay.

In order to be able to assess the costs, I made the assumption that Oguri Cap would engulf as much food as a whole sumo stable on an outing would. I fished for some known events of sumo stable bills being made public and there was a famous one by Sakaigawa beya in 2017, who generated a bill of 741000 yen, inccluding 50kg of meat, as the restaurant was a yakiniku place.

Mulitplied by 33, that is a 24.453.000 yen food bill for the three tears of racing. If we decide to take on the 1988 yen value (when he was 3 years old), the end bill would be today 181K US$ or 155K€ for the career.

Note: given the peculiar nature of inflation (or lack thereof) in Japan during the last 30 years, I used a purchasing power equivalence to come up with something reasonably accurrate. Given the plunge of the yen, the cost in foreign currencies actually went down.
