Are Fiber Optics Fabric Really Useful Or Just Look Fancy?

I am going to my friend’s workshop today. I see some fiber optics fabric lying on the table. It look shiny and colorful. I touch the fabric and it feel soft but a little stiff. I feel curious because it look simple but maybe really good for costumes or decorations. One thread is little loose.

I am thinking why fiber optics fabric is popular now. People don’t just use normal fabric anymore. I feel curious because some fabrics feel strong and glow well but some threads or connections break fast. Maybe material and weaving matter more than color. It make me wonder if all fiber optics fabric are same or some are really better for brightness and durability.

I am taking my phone and start searching while scrolling many online marketplaces including alibaba. I see fiber optics fabric in many colors, sizes, and patterns. Some simple some fancy. Some with extra features like flexible wires, waterproof coating, or easy power connection. Some light some heavy. I read few reviews where people say some fabrics feel strong and last long others threads or wires break quickly. It feel like picking right one really matter if you want bright and long lasting fiber optics fabric.

Now I am thinking which fiber optics fabric is really better for costumes or home decoration? Are simple strong ones more useful or fancy ones with extra features better choice?
