\*M/C had moved away from home when he was heading off for college, deciding to stay at the dorms for the true experience before deciding that was awful and getting an apartment about a year later.  Now he was in his senior year of college, beginning to make preparations for the real world, but it seemed life decided to throw him a curveball.  Getting a call one day from his parents, they asked if his sister could stay with him during her first year of college.  Apparently, her would-be roommate had decided to send a particularly disturbing email before the group tour of campus, and now she didn’t feel comfortable staying in the dorms.  The school was also unwilling to adjust who was assigned to what rooms, so his apartment was practically the only option left.  M/C agreed, but asked them to inform his sister that he only had a one bedroom.\*

\*It was only a couple of days later when M/C was sitting on the couch, awaiting the arrival of his younger sister.  He had already gone through the process of cleaning the entire apartment, wanting to make a good impression, since she would be the first family member to visit.  The rental itself was rather small, only made up of a living room, bathroom, and bedroom, with the kitchen space occupying the back-half of the living room.  Unfortunately, the couch was not a foldout, so in an attempt to try and make his sister’s stay a little more comfortable, M/C went out and bought an air mattress.  Funds were tight at the moment, since he was only able to work part-time, but didn’t want his sister to be stressed out staying with him either.  As the sun began to set, a knock was heard at the door, and he quickly moved over to let her in.\*

\*Although it had only been about six months since the last time he saw his sister, there was something…different about her.  A slightly more mature feeling?  M/C couldn’t really put his finger on it, but nevertheless, the two embraced in the doorway, happy to see one another, before she was let inside.  The young man chuckled a bit as he watched his sister idly looking around the apartment, taking in her new home, and the two began working on bringing her stuff inside.  With the living room now sporting a few extra boxes, and after getting some delicious takeout from a nearby restaurant, the two began making preparations for bed.  M/C retired to his bedroom, but after a brief knock on the door, his sister came in, stating that she was scared to sleep alone in an unfamiliar place.  With a sigh, the young man allowed his sister to crawl into bed with him, making sure to turn the opposite direction away from her before attempting to go to sleep.  But since the bed wasn’t the largest, he could feel her back pressed against him all night, making it rather difficult…and this was only the first night.\*

\# Prompt Overview

A small apartment made even smaller by the addition of a family member. What could possibly go wrong? So yes, I am looking for a slow-burn relationship between these two siblings, who do their best to make use of the limited space, and will end up becoming closer to one another in different physical ways. Despite the slightly creepy way of making it so his sister didn't want to stay on campus, I do want to keep the theme of this prompt as light-hearted and fun. Plus, we'll get to play out a number of accidental scenarios that raise the tensions as time goes on: walking in on one another in the shower, early morning living room stretches, any and all instances of two people forced to share a single bed, plus many more. Here's hoping my character will be able to get a refund on that air mattress though!
