I didn’t realize my old laptop still had recoverable data
So I recently came across something surprising.
I had an old laptop sitting at home for years, thinking it was completely useless. Out of curiosity, I checked how data recovery works and found out that even “deleted” files can still be restored if the device isn’t properly wiped.
That got me thinking… how many companies or individuals are just throwing away devices without considering this?
Also found out that these devices actually contain valuable materials that can be reused through proper recycling. It’s kind of crazy that something we consider waste is actually both a security risk and a resource.
Now I’m wondering:
Do most people actually use certified e-waste recycling services, or is everything just ending up in scrap markets?
Would love to hear how others handle old electronics.
