Palisman Connections

An interesting thing about the palisman is that they like a witch with goals but they also don't always need their owner to have everything figured out. Ghost chose Amity just for saying she wanted to make her own decisions and not follow the predetermined path her parents planned out for her. Then there's Stringbean who connected with Luz when she realized she that wants to be understood and belong somewhere. Neither of them knew what exactly they wanted to do with their lives but they still had an emotion to connect with. Bat Queen did say that palisman bond through emotion so that checks out.
