Was TWW required to play Legion remix last year?

Would appreciate if anybody can tell me, had to skip Midnight because the budget is pretty tight this year but would definitely buy few months of game time in case we have another remix event at the end of it.
Do you know if we'd need the expansion to play remix or only game time? I did have TWW so don't know if it was required for remix.
