Texting advice

I've been texting this girl for a couple of days and she sent a couple of texts that I've missed and didn't respond to, but I just realized she didn't text me all day after those messages from her. I don't wanna be seen as clingy so I thought I'd wait until she texts again. Is that the right move or do I look like a jerk if I don't respond to her?
