Hiring First Sales Rep

Looking to hire a rep, but in a weird space of needing a rep so I can focus more on growth/not necessarily having enough organic/ad generated leads to justify hiring one and keep them busy. Is there anyone here that works solely/primarily with self-generated leads for a percentage of profit for a smaller company? Or is that scenario just with larger ones normally? How do you even go about finding folks like this? (Alabama)
