Miraculous has a redemption problem
I don't want this to be too long, so I'll try to make it as short as possible and still get my point across. Like the title says, I feel as though the series has a major issue with redemption and giving it to undeserving characters. Or using it to erase character morale and complexity.
What I mean is that the writing can't handle characters that are too complex and require actual development and focus throughout multiple episodes/arcs. It has been a major letdown for multiple seasons now, but S5 and S6, especially since this is when the show began to take a darker turn.
Beginning and ending with Felix. I'm sorry, but giving Felix a redemption took away so many layers of his character that made him so compelling and different from the archetypes of villains and heross we see in Lila and Gabriel, and Ladybug and Chat Noir. For me, his whole appeal was that he was morally grey and held alliance to no one. Often doing things for his own and his mother's personal gains. But this didn't last cause they needed to ship him with Kagami for stupid reasons and make him a good person. Stuffing him in with every other character and erasing his individuality.
Season 6 makes this so much worse with the adults and how they'll say/do the most vile things, and end the episode with "we forgive you." Like please, get out of my face with this whole moral high ground bs. And don't say it has to do with it being a "kid's show" when we all know damn well that hasn't been a valid excuse for 3 seasons now. They can't decide if they want to be family friendly and teach kids about "forgiveness" and "humility" or delve deeper into psychology and highlight the complexities of human morality.
