Security clearance concerns. Advice needed.
Hello everyone. So I have just started the process of enlisting, however I’m having some major anxiety regarding my security clearance. I’ll try to make it as simple as possible, if you need any more information just let me know. So I have been unemployed for about 5 months after getting fired from a job at a restaurant as a server. I was fired because I was romantically involved with a manager(which was okay where I worked), but things ended badly, so working with her was very hard, and my attitude kind of tanked and I was terminated. Fast forward up to about a month ago, her and I had reconnected over the phone(I have not seen her in person since I was fired), and we had been speaking on and off for a few weeks. I was in a very dark place during this time, and one night she revealed to me that she had a boyfriend, and I had been drinking, and I just kind of crashed out. Probably texted and said some things on the phone that I am very not proud of. Not all of it I remember, I was blocked, rightfully so, and have been moving on trying to learn from how stupid and immature it was for me to act like that. I have enough money saved to hold me over until I would ship(I think), so getting a new job is out of the question as I want to completely focus on enlisting. My concern is that an investigator will interview her, or other former coworkers, either on the phone or in person and they will all talk about my previous mistakes, and I’m certain that everyone there is aware of what I did. Again I’m deeply disappointed and embarrassed with my behavior, and I want to move on with my life and get better. Is this a cause for a concern? Is there anything I can do? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
