Do you treat your own work with the same kindness you give to other artists?

Question

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

When you look at other people’s comics, it’s easier to be patient. You notice the effort, the details, the improvement.

You encourage them, support them and recognize the value in what they’re creating.

But when it comes to your own work… it never feels like enough. The focus shifts to what’s wrong. What could be better. What wasn’t done “well enough”.

All the hours, the effort, the progress somehow get overlooked. Why is it so easy to be kind to others, but so hard to be fair to yourself?

If you’ve been working on your comic, showing up, trying, improving… give yourself some credit.

You deserve the same understanding and encouragement you give to everyone else.
