Was this rude? Did I mess up ?

I have a crush on this guy , he was in my class all of high school and we happened to get into the same Uni again , we are not the closest but we greet each other and he says Good morning and smiles when he sees me in Uni and I smile back at him.

Today he saw me and said Good morning, I was with my friend and I laughed a little nervously before saying good morning back

my friend said it was rude , was it ? please be honest and objective.

I feel like the more I overthink situations the more awkward I start to act especially with people I like , but that comment my friend made me question if I was accidentally rude . What's your advice in such cases ?

Edit : it was not a mocking laugh in any way , more of a shy or nervous little laugh since I haven't seen him for a while but that comment made me worry if it came across the wrong way .
