What is it like to study classical music in Europe?

Currently, I am a BMus piano student in a small school in Canada. I am looking into auditioning to European masters programs next year. I am curious to hear if there are any people here who followed that route, and how the experiences in culture contrast each other? I've heard from my professor that Europe has quite a different outlook on the study of classical music than Canada does.

Also just curious to hear the experiences of anyone studying in Europe now!
