I [21F] left [28M] after 3 years and he moved on in 2 weeks
I (21F) met a guy (28M) 3 years ago. We lived together for two of those years. I caught him on tinder two months after being together. He told me he wouldn’t do it again. I then got a message from a girl 8 months later, with evidence of him basically sexting her. I left him. He wrote me letters and begged for me back, said he found God and would never do that or hurt me again. My family hated him for that.
After I got him re-introduced to everyone in the family, last spring, I found that he was on a dating app with a fake name using pictures that I took. Since then I felt like I couldn’t trust anything that he says because he had claimed that he had God‘s strength to be strong and be loyal, and yet he looked me in the face and said that he hasn’t done anything like that so I brought it back into my family life and then he was actually not honest and did all that behind my back. There’s more examples as well over the past year that showed that he never really changed but I feel like that something up and I probably should’ve ended it there, but I was still hopeful and not strong enough to leave because of my attachment.
He had me put screen time locks on his phone because he said it was an “addiction”.
Last month somehow I found that in allowed websites “onlyfans.com” was there twice. He didn’t have an explanation and continued to say he didn’t do it but I couldn’t shake the face that, somehow he must’ve done that.
He also consistently showed that he has anger management issues and I gave him a warning when he chucked my phone across the room and yet he continued to flip a paint when my Dad and I were working on painting this past fall and then recently started beating the life out of my car dashboard and jumped out of the car for a little conflict regarding that he felt like my dog was disrespectful peeing on the outside of the garage.
And if it wasn’t for those things, the Stonewalling , I told him many times that he need to figure out how he can communicate properly and not just flip out or ignore me, but last month had repeated the action again and rolled over and ignored me and rather than try to get him to communicate, I just accepted defeat that he’s gonna be this way forever.
So I left him. I packed my stuff up one early morning and left. Sent him a crying message about how I could never trust him and need to go no contact. Blocked him on everything. He tried to send me notes but my family did what I asked and threw them away.
I’ve been doing well…
But then I saw that he’s got a new girlfriend within two weeks of me leaving.
This brought me right back to those back feelings.
I feel disgusted. Any advice on how to let this go would be helpful?
