Not seeing any NPCs with resources or materials

is it just me or the NPCs are not spawning with any items. I have over 80hrs and I have seen only one NPC with 2 gold bars, that's it. I havent seen any other noble with a gold bar since then, it's not just them, not a single beggar or a scholar carries abyss artifact. is it really just me?? is there a secret lantern I'm mission or something. excuse my english, it's not my first language.
