Dead Space 3 is criminally hated and one of the bleakest games in survival horror

This is my own perspective but I find that the third Dead Space game is criminally overhated and is still one of the bleakest games in science fiction gaming:

Dead Space 3:

John Carver is angered but determined in the story, this is because Dannik the Unitologist unleashed the marker on his military station planet, which lead to him being forced to kill his child and wife after they transformed into necromorphs and was the only one to survive.

we learn through Norton and Carver that the entirety of the Earth Gov faction has been completely wiped out by the Unitologists by their own military factions.

Humanity as a whole is threatened by extinction due to the Unitologists traveling across the galaxy to all of the colonies and activating Markers to initiate the Convergence and evolve us into Necromorph unions

On Tau Volantis we learn that humanity almost got close to awakening the Brethren Moon and dooming us completely but it was stopped by the Military by killing them all and shutting down the Cannister too.

The "Residents" of Tau Volantis prior to the human colony, were also inflicted by the Brethren Moons presence and the Markers dangerous Necromorph transformations. They had all died off and became extinct.

Norton was tempted to betray humanity by selling Isaac off to Danik while he goes away to safety with Ellie.

Danik eventually gets the lead and Awakens the slumbering Brethren Moon which shocks him to his core as something he wasn't expecting, it kills him as Isaac and Carver then fight off the Moon and destroy it.

DLC:

Isaac and Carver who survived the Moons encounter find themselves trying to find a way off the planet to get back to Earth to warn them before it gets worse.

The Remaining Unitologists have fallen deeper into insanity as they establish a horrifying new cult that worships the Moons and Necromorph creatures to their dillusional state.

The Duo keep getting hallucinations driven into their minds to distract and disway their objective which in turn makes them more confident to survive and stop this.

In the conclusion, it turns out that the Brethren Moon hive mind already knew about Earth learning it from Isaac and Carver. At the end of the story we see the duo survive and reach Earth, only to realize that the Moons are there spreading the Necromorph horror everywhere.

I understand that the shady monetization practices and the action heavy elements weren't what people wanted in Dead Space following the first two, but there are so many horrifying elements that make it so much darker and bleaker than the games had been before

Example:

The Feeders....

Colonists who ran out of resources and food who in the end resulted in cannibalizing Necromorph flesh to survive which began to rapidly cause them to lose weight, have a sensitivity to bright lights and noises were more hyper active to their senses alerting them
