WIBTAH if I say no whenever my friend asks if her poorly behaved dog can join for walks or hikes?
My friend’s dog is super adorable, but also a super pain in the ass. Every time I see him, he jumps all over me and, in his excitement, pees all over me as well.
He is also not trained to walk well on the leash, so he drags her along the whole time we go for a walk or hike together. And, anytime he sees a leaf or a bird or a moth or pretty much anything, he lunges to go after it. He’s also a total nut whenever we walk by other people, particularly people with dogs.
Anyway, whenever I ask if she wants to go for a walk or a hike, I pretty much accept that he’s going to join as well.
She does ask if it’s ok to bring him and I feel obligated to say yes. I did say no once, but I feel like a jerk saying it all the time, even though that’s what I wanna do. It’s just stressful to see him dragging her along and we end up having to stop a million times while he freaks out at animals/people/the wind blowing the wrong way.
Plus, since he’s spending so much energy being crazy, he ends up tuckering out quicker and we have to end our walks/hikes early.
The fact that she asks shows that she knows it’s kind of a downer to bring him.
