Brokers are making 40-50% on your load and you can’t even find out what the shipper paid

This is something that doesn’t get talked about enough and it should.

You negotiate a rate, you think it’s fair, you run the load. Meanwhile the broker who spent 11 minutes on the phone already pocketed nearly half of what the shipper paid and you have zero way to verify any of it unless you dig hard.

The FMCSA rule that was supposed to bring broker transparency never really had teeth. Brokers are still not required to show carriers the actual load transaction in any practical way and most carriers are too busy running to fight it.

You are the one with the truck, the CDL, the insurance, the liability and the 11 hour clock ticking. They have a phone and a load board login. How is that split even close to justified?

Has anyone here actually successfully gotten transaction records from a broker? What happened when you asked?
