Received a life insurance request for proof of parent death. Don’t worry, she’s still alive.
Opening this letter sent me through all the emotions. A great practice run. I mean, I really don’t have the energy for a practice run because of chronic health conditions.
Before calling or texting anyone, I started with checking when she last posted on social media. It was yesterday.
I have a feeling that she may be returning mail to sender by writing “deceased” rather than “NATA” (not at this address). She’s been doing that since I was a child. I wonder how many of these letters were sent to me and I just didn’t receive it because I haven’t had a solid permanent address until now. The scary part is it was sent to my new address. So if I hypothetically act on this in any way to make sure they know she’s not dead, my address is still on record. Which means she now has access to my home address.
I’m so tired of never being safe for long.
