Closed Chequing Acct and Credit Card Cannot Use Online Banking Anymore?

Is anyone in this situation? I used to have a chequing account, savings account, line of credit, and mortgage with CIBC.

Then I closed my chequing account and cancelled my credit card and still have my savings account, line of credit and mortgage. I cant log in to the old way I logged in to online banking anymore with my credit card number

I called and an agent told me I have to go to a branch and get a new access card to associate it with my remaining products at CIBC and then register online banking again with the access card number.

Before I go to a branch, anyone else has a trick to bypass this?
