Got a 48 in PTE Speaking but felt confident—Is the scoring that harsh?

just got my PTE Core practice test score and honestly, I’m really confused and frustrated.

I ended up with an overall 60, but my speaking score was 48, which feels way lower than what I actually performed. I was confident during the test—I didn’t freeze, I completed all tasks, and I felt my responses were clear.

What’s even more confusing is that my writing is 83 and listening is 67, so it’s not like I struggle with English overall. That huge drop in speaking doesn’t feel accurate to me.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of gap in PTE scores, especially in speaking? Is the AI scoring really that strict with pauses or fluency?

I know re-evaluation isn’t an option, but I’m trying to understand what might have gone wrong. Any advice or similar experiences would really help.

Thanks in advance.
