Nearly 10 years ago, a random guy approached me when I was walking alone at night, and he seemed confused about why I was wary and nervous about him

It happened nearly a decade ago when I was a teenager, but I remembered it today and got annoyed just thinking about it.

I was on my own and on my way to meet my (at the time) boyfriend. It was night time and dark, and I was walking. This random guy approaches me and starts talking to me (I can’t remember what he said) but then he said something along the lines of “haha why are you so nervous” when I was, understandable, wary and cautious that a random guy who I didn’t know was talking to me, a teenage girl, who was on her own at night. I was actually on the phone with my (at the time) boyfriend while it was happening, so he heard the whole thing.

It just frustrates me how these guys don’t seem to understand how their behaviour could be perceived - the fact he was *so surprised and bemused* at my nervousness. Just needed to vent lol.
