Relapsed and Need Help
Been a vaper/smoker for around 4-5 years, managed to quit smoking last year and tapered the addiction with Nic Pouches until I was fully off Nicotine 4 months ago. In the 4 months up until now I was utterly useless at everything, barely concentrated unless it was a specific thing I wanted to do and felt pretty disheartened about a lot of the things I was initially interested in (anhedonia essentially). Videogames didn't hit the same, passion for previous interest just dissipated and even my sociability shot straight down to the dumps. Properly sucked. However, not once did I crave nicotine in the 4 months I was fully clean and was incredibly Anti-Smoking.
Today I got the most horrendous craving ever abruptly and without reason. I am talking proper agony, irritable and irrational with tight chest and pounding headache with the worst case of dry mouth I've ever had. I didn't even want nicotine or a vape straight up, just something to relieve it chemically. Relapsed like a moron and bought a vape and although I despise the sensation of smoking/vaping, the nicotine hit gave me something that felt less like a high and more just like a balance I needed to be less of a nasty version of myself and just be neutral. However, I refuse to go back to vaping or smoking indefinitely. It's terrible for my health, goes against my new morals and not ideal in any way for the life I'm trying to live. Same goes for pouches, they were great as a temporary solution to quitting but played havoc on my gums and dental health.
So, what on earth do I do to fix this chemical imbalance feeling? Is there a better Nic alternative that helps me feel straight or do I just see a doctor at this point?
