Husband admitted he’s jealous of me

Vent

I, (37f) have been with my husband (43m)for 18 years, married for 7, one child (12)

Our marriage has been chaotic for years. Lots of arguing and him being defensive. Last summer I told him i was exhausted and it was clear that our marriage was over. He said he would go to therapy at that time and never did. We continued to argue over everything, and last month i told him we need to divorce. The next week, he finds a therapist. Over the last two weeks he’s been “confessing” things to me as recommended by his therapist to “lay everything out”

This morning he tells me that his anger caused him to be blind to how he was treating me and says that it all stems from jealousy. In the moment I was shocked so I didn’t ask what he was jealous of. It broke me honestly because I’ve felt this from him over the last few years but didn’t want to believe it.

ATP it doesn’t matter what he’s jealous of- Anger and jealousy have no place in a marriage. Because, is this a competition? Or are we partners?
