Hi everyone! I wanted to share a review of a deck I recently acquired, which I discovered on this page.

Tarot One is magical hand illustrated deck that was created by visual artist Adam One, who can be found on instagram as SYMPREZ. At first glance the illustrations of the deck caught my eye, so I had to get one for myself.

Receiving it in person has exceeded all expectations I had when inviting it into my life. The box and book design are covered in sacred geometry shining in metallic gold. It feels like a magic item from another time. Inside the box there are all these hidden messages that seem to seal the deck in a bubble of light.

The cards themselves are also gilded gold, and it works perfectly with the black and white illustrations to pop them out and emphasize the magic of the deck. Card edges are also gold which only adds more to the feel of the deck as a valuable magic item.

What’s most unique about this deck to me is in the writing and card interpretations. Each card has two sections of meaning, one tarot and one an oracle type description. It’s fun to bounce questions off two sets of answers. While sometimes it seems to me like the descriptions don’t perfectly match the character stories, when applied to my questions it’s surprising how much of a clear transmission comes through.

It’s obvious the artist took a long time on the drawings and writing, but what validates this deck the most for me is the way it reads. Nearly every pull I’ve done so far is a crystal clear reflection of my inner world. It’s almost creepy how psychic the deck feels. I look forward to continue using it in my practice of self exploration.

My only critiques of the deck would be that the illustrations have a life of their own, and that a lot of the traditional tarot imagery has been reimagined. That is also a strong point for the deck as well, if you’re not attached to every deck looking the same as the Rider Waite deck. Finally, the price point is pretty high, but it IS a limited edition and I understand that no more will be made when it sells out. Worth the extra investment to have deck that few in the world will ever own.

All in all I’m super happy with the acquisition and look forward to having this as a tool in my magic box for years to come.
