Canon R10 v Nikon Z50ii v Sony a6400
• Budget: £700/150k Yen
• Country: based in UK but often travel to Japan
• Condition: New
• Type of Camera: mirrorless
• Intended use: Photos for holidays and family pics.
• If photography; what style: not sure, this would be my first camera.
• What features do you absolutely need: strong auto settings. I'm a complete newbie and would like a camera that does most of the work for me, while also having capability for more "pro" settings as I learn. ideally not looking to edit the pics at first, more something that I'd like to learn later on. I'm not too worried about lens availability as Ill probably stick with kit lenses for quite a while until I feel the need to upgrade, hopefully in time I'll understand cameras much more.
• Portability: Travel camera, however I have quite big hands so ergonomics is important.
• Cameras you're considering: Canon R10, Sony a6400, Nikon Z50II.
• Cameras you already have: None.
• Notes: The cameras I have mentioned are all selling for a similar price of ~150k yen, or £700. Sony comes with dual kit lenses 16-50 and 55-210, Canon 18-45 and Nikon 16-50.
I was pretty set on the Canon given that the same package costs £1000 in the UK and liked the features and ergonomics. I was only worried about the lack of weather proofing as I live in London and it rains most days. is that going to be a significant limitation?
As I was checking for alternatives, I then stumbled on the Sony and Nikon and honestly I'm out of my depth in terms of differences. Sony dual lenses sound great, as well as weather proofing, however it looks slightly smaller and worried I won't enjoy the feel. Nikon I'm least familiar with but open to opinions on all three as I don't have any brand loyalty at the moment.
Many thanks in advance!
