This horse has come into my direct care with history of dentals every 6 months with teeth removed. She has a dental appointment and veterinary appointment planned for two weeks. She was previously on a forage only diet (hay and hay pellets with sunflower seeds and whole flaxseeds). I’m currently feeding her 7lbs of Ultium Purina Senior feed, 7lbs T&A pellets, and 4 lbs of alfalfa cubes soaked daily broken up over 3 feedings. She is also getting 2 flakes coastal and 2 flakes T&A daily. She is also getting 1cup Amplify and 3/4 cup Outlast. She has a medical history of ulcers in 2009 and founder in 2009. My biggest questions are does she look like she needs a glucosamine supplement too? Does she look arthritic? I haven’t been around horses in years and I’m open to advice. She prances around pasture, she has good poops, and all her food is soaked due to the teeth issues. She is a pet only, no riding, plan to just do groundwork and enrichment activities. She has been in the family for 24 years and I’m taking the car over from an elderly relative. Horse is going to be 29 this April and is a polish Arabian.
