Got a filling on a different tooth than I thought today, and I’m not happy with how it looks or feels I don’t know if it was miscommunication or me misunderstanding things. I’ve had a lot of work done so maybe that has something to do with me mixing things up. 

I thought I was getting a filling on tooth 31, in part because I thought I could see decay on that tooth, small black cavities on the biting surface. I come out of there today with a filling on tooth 30, and, imo, a poorly done one at that. The tooth is also throbbing and painful. I can hardly open my jaw. The filling i believe is mainly by the premolar. 

I feel like the pictures aren’t doing it justice but (near where the blue mark is from the biting paper) it looks like someone scooped out a chunk of tooth and called it good. The cusp of the tooth there, on the tongue side, is now sharp and rough. I hate how it looks and feels. I know you can’t always feel or see decay or other issues, but tooth 30 didn’t look or feel bad prior to this and that’s what drives me especially crazy. I can’t even remember what they told me the reason for the filling was. They’re not always good at communicating, and I try to ask, but as I said, I’ve had so much work done, and been in a lot of pain during most of it, it’s been overwhelming. I included an X-ray taken prior to the filling. 

This isn’t the first time I’ve come out of this office feeling like the work was subpar. I wondered if I was being particular but I really find this combined with other issues unacceptable. I have two other fillings he did four weeks ago that have felt like permanent toothaches since, and they keep brushing off my concerns. I have a crown that was done with a margin that’s far too wide and food gets stuck. I’m trying to be responsible and get the massive amount of work that I need done after years of not being able to go to the dentist. I just feel stupid and defeated.
