BOY
Yeah, I guess so. I honestly wasn’t expecting to feel this way.

GIRL
How were you expecting to feel?

BOY
(Turns to move closer to GIRL, but they move away)
More comfort? Peace? A sense of control, I guess. I would’ve thought that you had already made up your mind, but it doesn’t seem that way.

GIRL
I thought the answer would’ve been made clear to myself too, but I’m still feeling lost. What is it that you want?

BOY
I want what makes you happy, nothing else.
(At this moment, breaks eye contact.)

GIRL
I guess, then we’ll never know what either of us wants.

I’m still feeling pretty lost after last night.

FRIEND
Were you not able to come to an agreement?

GIRL
What do you mean by agreement?

FRIEND
It seems like both parties involved were not clear on expectations from the start.

GIRL
This is true, but why are you talking about this so formally?

FRIEND
What other way is there to talk about business proceedings?

GIRL
A relationship is not a business or transaction… I’m feeling kinda hurt that you would belittle my problems into something as simple as business negotiations.

FRIEND
Wait, I’m sorry but I’m confused… Were you and BOY not in a meeting last night?

GIRL
Why are you still referencing things as if they are just meetings or negotiations or things that are purely circumstantial? I think we need to have this conversation at a different time.
