Buying to tow a 16 ft boat
I am in the market for a tow vehicle. We currently own a Powerboost we use to tow our small travel trailer. I want to buy a small 16 foot boat and will need to replace our Rav 4 Hybrid with a vehicle capable of towing said boat. I'm looking at the lightning for a daily driver to get the kid to school, grocery getting, back and forth trips to hardware store, and to tow a boat on the weekends.
Most boat trips would just be in town to the local ramp. Those I am not worried about at all. The trip(s) I am worried about would be to our state park. It is 75 miles away, or about an hour and a half drive. It'll be a combination of mostly 70 mph speed limit, and 60. I have not purchased a boat yet, but am looking at 16 foot boats that seem to weigh around 2200 loaded out with trailer.
So my question is, is this even feasible in the real world, or should I set my sights on a different tow vehicle?
