Why is it that we preserve life?....

this has been pondering me for a while. i have no wish too continue my life, since all alternatives just suck. why can't someone just help me get over to the other side?. and if not that, atleast they could help me with living a life worth living. Like, why are we human beings, great at causing people, too just be alive, but we dont want to help them with financial resources needed to have a fufilling life.
