The Life of Anna series vs Haunting Adeline/Hunting Adeline (Cat and Mouse) series

I read The Life of Anna series last year and just finished reading the Cat and Mouse series yesterday. It honestly felt like with Cat and Mouse, I was reading the same story but darker. Like, similar situation with MFC and MMC, similar antagonist, similar situation. Almost every situation brought me back to The Life of Anna. I can’t be the only one that noticed these similarities. Has this been discussed before and I missed it?
