Losing patience as a caregiver
Husband has stage 3 colon cancer. Spent the first half of last year doing chemo, and then switching to chemo and radiation. NED in Oct- been in pain non stop. Recent had the Lars surgery and ileostomy bag. He’s been in so much pain. They are giving him tramadol.
Is this much pain normal? Says he’s feeling a ton of pressure and pain.
He’s starting to really feel defeated and doesn’t want to go through this anymore and I’m heartbroken and tired. It’s all we ever talk about.
Please tell me there’s light at the end of the tunnel. He gets reversal surgery in two weeks. He has the edema thing today and everything looks like it’s healing fine. So I don’t understand why he’s in so much pain.
I hate this. Colon cancer is so so hard.
