Nursing Conversion in Perth: Where Are the Best Job Opportunities After Graduation
Hi everyone! I just want to ask for some advice.
I’m currently doing my Nursing Conversion Program in Perth, and honestly I’m finding it hard to get a job here as a PCA. I really prefer working in residential aged care, but there seem to be fewer opportunities compared to other cities. It actually took me about 2 months to find support worker work even though I already have more than 2 years of residential aged care experience in Sydney.
Because of this, I’m starting to worry about what will happen after I finish my course. I’m hoping to find an employer right away since I don’t want to go back to another student visa again—the tuition fees are very expensive and I already have a timeline to follow.
For those who already finished their nursing conversion or are working as PCAs/RNs:
Which part of Australia has better job opportunities in residential aged care or hospitals after the program?
I’m especially considering whether moving to cities like Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane would give better chances compared to staying in Perth.
Any advice or shared experiences would really help. Thank you so much! 🙏
