AITAH for leaving my boyfriend without saying a word?

I (22F) was dating someone (25M) we’ll call him Charlie.

When Charlie and I met he was still messing around with his ex girlfriend, we had no boundaries at this point but my friends and I noticed that anything I did that indicated I was single, was a problem. all while he was living his life sleeping with his ex, hanging out with her, having her spend the night, etc. on top of talking to other women.

In April of 2025 I found out he was texting other women on snapchat, saying things like “i wish you were riding me instead” after telling these women he had just got off his motorcycle (not mentioning his girlfriend was backpacking of course) i confront this and obviously he swore “it would stop.” i found out on May 4th that he had left work (he’s a night shift worker) at 6am, drove 30 mins to this woman’s house, cuddled and slept with her, and then he left her house and got me breakfast and thought that should’ve been enough for me to forgive him. i have a daughter from a previous relationship, i found out the same day he was getting tinder codes on my daughters birthday while we were out together. i left. i went back a few months later. this was 6 months ago. in 6 months he has started getting mean towards my daughter, especially about the fact that her dad picks her up like once or twice a month. he has started shoving me, strangling me over any little disagreement, stabbing me with sharp objects, verbally threatening my safety, cutting me off from everyone around me, etc.

two days ago, we got into an argument, he started stabbing me with his car key, biting me to which i reactively punched him in the forehead, punching my face and breaking my glasses, strangling me to the point i was VERY close to losing consciousness. all of this because i said it was weird he knew some random girl at the dollar store a girl was gay and apparently decided she liked men instead of being gay now. i acted like everything was fine, made his food, waited for him to leave and then packed my stuff and called a friend from 3 hours away. i turned my location off, blocked him on everything and walked out the door. he has blown my family up since then saying he “doesn’t understand why i left.”

i’m really processing right now and trying to come to terms with the entire situation.
