13YO Aussie elevated ALT/ALP
Hello,
Posting here in an attempt to get some early answers / ease my mind through the weekend. The past few days I have not stopped worrying about my 13yo mini Aussie, let me break down the situation below.
Monday Night / Tuesday Morning:
On Monday night at around 3:30am (Tuesday), my aussie had a seizure which lasted 1 min to 1 and a half min. This is a first time for him, left the family very worried. We took him to the vet very early morning, doctor said that it could have been a one time incident but scheduled us for a full blood panel to look at his Kidney/Liver function on Thursday.
Tuesday Night:
My Aussie had 3 more seizures over night, this time they were shorter but not less scary. They were about 3 hours apart and recovery from them was quick. This was a bad night for him and us, we decided against the emergency vet overnight but took him first thing in the morning.
Wednesday:
Aussie got dropped off at the vet, they decided to proceed with the 2 step blood work, fasting and post postprandial. Right after the first blood draw, he had another seizure at the vet. They quickly administered Diszepam and it stopped. Additionally we did a chest X-ray to look at his heart and lungs. At the time of pick up, the vet told us he saw a bit of an enlarged heart and that he is sending the x-ray somewhere else for deeper analysis. Other than that he told us he does not like how fast the seizures are progressing, referred us to a neurologist, and prescribed some Levetiracetam. We are aiming to meet with the neurologist ASAP (early next week).
Aussie did not have any more seizures on Wednesday or Wednesday night.
Thursday (Today):
That brings me to today, we got the lab results back. I have posted them here, as far as I can tell this could be related to a liver issue.

Note: Outside of the episodes and post-ictal phase after the seizures, aussie has been acting normal. He asks for food all day and runs around when excited, nothing out of the ordinary. He did have a small accident inside the house (also a first time for him) but I think it might be related to Levetiracetam and getting used to it.
Needless to say, I appreciate all future comments on this post. Thank you!
