Paper mache vase project

Hi, I am looking to make a vase or something similar with Paddington on it for a friend's birthday. I can't draw or paint, so thinking of papier-macheing a glass bottle/ plain vase with the illustarted paddington on, any advice on if this would work or how to aproach it? Thanks!!
