He changed
Title: He chased me, changed after 3 months, and now I feel manipulated and replaceable
I was in a relationship for about 1.5 years. In the beginning, he liked me first and did everything to get me. He treated me so well, made me feel loved, and acted like he would do anything for me.
But after around 3 months, everything started changing.
He slowly stopped putting in effort. He never really made me feel special anymore. He didn’t express love the way he used to, and even small things like posting me or showing me off (which he did before) stopped completely.
I stayed because for me, it was always him. I kept thinking things would go back to how they were.
One thing that really hurt is that he knew my weak points and still used them against me during arguments. When I was already feeling low, he would say things that made it worse instead of supporting me.
Whenever I needed him the most, he would pull away. I felt completely alone in the relationship.
Also, even when he did something for me, like buying me something, he would bring it up later in arguments like “I bought this for you,” as if it was something I owed him for. That made everything feel conditional and uncomfortable.
I’ll admit, I didn’t always express my needs clearly (like wanting more affection or effort), but I was constantly feeling disappointed and unheard.
Whenever I brought up breaking up before, he would beg me to stay. But this time, when I said it, he just told me I can leave if I want.
That hurt in a completely different way.
Now I feel confused, hurt, and honestly manipulated. I don’t understand how someone can go from putting in so much effort to making you feel like you don’t matter at all.
I really want to move on, but I don’t know how to fully let go of someone I cared about so much.
Was any of this real? Or was I just holding onto a version of him that doesn’t exist anymore?
Any advice on how to move on and stop feeling like this would really help.
