Just wanted to share some information regarding APR coilovers. My 2017 Alltrack had APR coilovers and I had zero issues. Loved them. When I got my 2024 Golf R I decided to go with APR again since I trusted their products. They were installed at Achtuning in January of 2025. By fall of 2025 I noticed that my fenders had bacon'd out on both sides even though the car was not slammed. I was quoted $8k to repair them by Haury's in Lake City. My wheel and tire setup is not aggressive either. 18x8.5 wheels with a 43 offset and running 225 tires. Achtuning said the springs had settled considerably so I had to pay to raise the suspension by 10mm to stop the rubbing. Fast forward to last month I started hearing a clunking noise when going over bumps. Come to find out that after 10k miles both the front struts have excessive play in them and need to replaced. Thankfully APR sent out a brand new system that they say is the latest revision since the first ones I got were the first version. They moved from Eibach to a different company to make their coilovers and are apparently worse which I was not aware of. Though APR says they are better than the Eibach produced ones. APR will not reimburse me for the labor even though this will be my third visit to Achtuning for coilover work which is disappointing. They did hook me up with APR tuning software so at least I got that going for me. Really hoping I have better luck with this newest set but just wanted to warn anybody thinking about going with APR for suspension. They made it right but pretty dissapointing expereince on my first brand new car I have bought.
