Fiance had horrifying experience with what he thinks is an angel. any insight?

My Fiance is the kind of person who doesn't believe in anything supernatural and has never astral projected nor does he know anything about it. However, last night he told me about how he both ap and seemed to have some sort of religious experience at the same time. But as he was recounting his story to me, I'm a little bit worried.

Last night, my fiance said he was lying in bed after smoking and saw some video about how stretching a certain way can 'push your soul out of your body.' He did the exercise and laid down. At first, he said he didn't feel anything, but around 10 seconds later his entire body started to tingle, and he felt himself shoot straight up in his bed. Immediately he said he couldn't feel his body and couldn't remember anyone's face or name. He told me the first 5 minutes was spent trying to remember the face of his father, his friends, and even me. After some time, he said he started to think so fast it was like he was having several thoughts at once, until eventually they synced up and split into two.

Now this is where the 'angel' comes in, he said he started to have a conversation with someone who sounded like him but wasn't and asked it questions. He asked if it was an angel, and it said yes. He asked what its name was, and it said, "I don't remember." He started asking it questions about religion like if God was real, and it would only give him very vague confusing answers like "He is, but he is not. He was, but he was not. He is here but not there." The angel told him that he had projected, but only halfway, and that thousands of souls had tried to enter his body. The angel further explained that he had supreme authority and had got there first to protect and guide him.

Now this is where the weird stuff starts. He said he started to hear growling, scraping and what he described as the sounds of a demonic elk (we live in arizona...) outside. The angel kept telling him not to pay any attention to it, but he started to get very paranoid that whatever was outside would get in. He started to hear groaning under his bed, and the angel kept telling him not to investigate or look at what was making those sounds because it would give it power. The angel told him, "This structure is now the House of God, and I am a protector of the House of God. Nothing can hurt you here"

So far whatever this entity is sounds safe, however what rubbed me the wrong way was that it seemed to not allow him to leave. It wouldn't let him drink water or look in any reflective surface because it would wake him up. He said at some point, he looked at his tv and saw his reflection for a split second before it morphed into these grotesque faces. He said the angel yelled at him and said, "I told you not to do that."

Overall, he said he continued to talk to the angel for some time before falling asleep. He was really shaken up this morning and said he felt like he was going crazy. The reason I'm worried is because I'm wondering if this could be an entity with some sort of ulterior motives pretending to be an angel. The entire experience for him was for the most part- horrifying- and my very experienced friend thinks whatever it is may be trying to gain his trust to be able to manipulate him. I'm not that experienced and I don't know much about ap, just a few experiences here and there, so if anyone has any thoughts or advice I could pass on, I would deeply appreciate it.
