real deal on GAF Timberline HDZ in NY?

hey guys, getting quotes for a reroof in queens and my contractor is pushing the GAF Timberline HDZ shingles hard. wanted to ask how they actually hold up for people, especially after that crazy hail storm we got last april. any major issues with like granule loss or anything? thanks.
