Band 5 Annex U

Hello all. I have recently been appointed to a band 5 job. As I am not qualified I will be paid 70% of the salary in year 1 and 75% of the salary in year 2. Once I’m qualified I will receive 100% of the salary.

I’m on 37.5 hours, by my calculations of 70% that would put me at £11.51 per hour before deductions, but the minimum wage has just gone up to £12.71.

Do I earn under the minimum wage until I’m qualified, or does the trust/NHS top it up to ensure I earn the minimum wage?
