> President Donald Trump today told a reporter that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after breaking the ceasefire with a series of massacres across Lebanon, was being brought back into line. “Netanyahu is on board with the agreement,” Trump told a journalist who called him. “Netanyahu is gonna be fine. He’s gonna lowkey a little bit. He’s got a problem with Hezbollah. He’s gonna lowkey a little bit but he’s gonna be absolutely fine.”

> Netanyahu responded with a video address in Hebrew to the Israeli public in which he said the precise opposite. “There is no ceasefire in Lebanon. We continue to strike Hezbollah with full force, and we will not stop until we restore your security,” he said.

The State of Israel is never going to be a "partner for peace." Poll after poll after poll shows an overwhelming majority of Israelis support the continued invasion of Lebanon. Polls showed the same for its aggressive war against Iran; for the continued genocide of Palestinians in Gaza; and for the new law that mandates the execution of Israel's Palestinian hostages.

This is why the concept of "defensive weapons" is just a lie. Netanyahu exists because the double standard exists—i.e., the standard whereby neither the State of Israel, nor its leaders, nor its collaborators, ever face consequences for their crimes against humanity.

Enough is enough. If this is the State of Israel exercising its "right to defend itself," then the State of Israel is fundamentally indefensible.
