Are my tanks good for otos?
Hello everyone! First time posting here! I have two tanks, a 10 gallon, and a 20 long, that I am considering adding ottos to. I don't want to do this incorrectly, since I LOVE all critters I have in my tanks and it would suck to accidentally kill anything due to any type of imbalance.
Atm, both of my tanks have basically just amanos and neos as my cleanup crew, with a light ramshorn infesation in the 10 gallon thanks to my boy snexing a lady snail a while back.
The 10 gallon has been fully established and operational about 6 months, and the 20 gal long has been fully cycled since last month. Both are not necessarily heavily planted, but have a lot of plants in them. I would say maybe 20% of both tanks are filled in with plants? I wanted space for corys to dig/sift through the sand :D
Both have light hair algae, and good reddish algae buildup on the side glass of the tank.
My thought, was to add a gang of 5 or 6 otos to either or both tanks? Or is that a bad idea considering my existing stocking and conditions?
