I'm New: Struggling to Learn to Play and Rank up in Pokemon Champions
I have been a longtime Pokémon fan and have been following the competitive VGC scene since 2017 or so. I like the strategy and teambuilding elements of learning to play, but I keep hitting a wall. I got to great ball 2 in doubles in almost no time, but since then, I've played probably 20+ matches and still can't advance. I'll at most win a game or two in a row, but then follow it up with a couple of losses. I suspect that my team is good enough to rank up and win more consistently with a better player piloting it, but I don't know how to teach myself any more than I already have, watching WolfeyVGC, CybertonVGC, official tournament streams, etc.
I know the basics, but I think I struggle with really rounding out a team and making good reads and consistent plays in games. Here is the team I am currently working with, though increasingly it feels like unless I start running Zard Y Hyper offense, I won't have much chance to rank up. More than ranking up, I'd really like to just learn where I'm going wrong. If you guys could either help critique the team and help make it better or provide tips to learn to make better choices in-game, that would be great! Anything at all that helped you get better, I'm open to hearing!
