Was Mama Joyce always like this?? (RHOA Season 2 rewatch)

Okay so I’m doing a rewatch of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and I need y’all to be serious with me for a second…

Why was Mama Joyce already coming in HOT in Season 2… before Todd was even a factor?

Because watching this back… her energy wasn’t new. It wasn’t situational. It felt like a pattern.

The way she treated Kandi’s fiancé AJ?? That man could barely breathe without her throwing shade or questioning his intentions. And this is BEFORE any of the later drama we all know.

So now I’m like… was Todd really the problem, or just the next target?

Because even back then:

•	She seemed territorial over Kandi

•	Quick to assume the worst about anyone close to her

•	And honestly… just mean-spirited at times for no clear reason

At what point is this “protective mom” vs. “you don’t want your daughter to have anyone but you”?

And I hate to say it, but the way she came at AJ makes me feel like Todd never stood a chance. Like if it wasn’t him, it would’ve been any man.

So what do y’all think—

Was this always who Mama Joyce was, or did the fame/money just amplify traits that were already there?

Because this rewatch is making me side-eye her WAY earlier than I did the first time 😭
