Crossover Idea: Fate/Zero-Magic Kaito, or Fate/Stay Night-Detective Conan. Which crossover concept do you find more interesting?
I've been wanting to make a crossover with the Fate series for a while now, after I was first inspired by the Fate/Zero-Lupin The Third crossover "Just An Unorthodox Thief" by The Infamous Man. I eventually settled on the DCMK universe, mainly because I like the main characters and concept but have grown tired of the endless extension of the story and want to see them in something more focused and outside their usual comfort zone.
However, the problem is, I'm torn between two basic ideas, shown below:
- Fate/Zero x Magic Kaito: Kaito ends up getting dragged into the Fourth war by Akako, becoming the Master of Caster (not Gilles, he's replaced with another Servant that I won't reveal here). He ends up way over his head against the other Masters and Servants in the war, but manages to weave his way through with his cunning and tricks, in the hopes of using the Grail to finally find the real Pandora.
- Fate/Stay Night x Detective Conan: Canon/Shinichi, Haibara/Shiho and Ran (plus maybe others yet to be decided) end up going to Fuyuki on a case to solve a mystery , and end up getting dragged into the Fifth War as the Master of Assassin (instead of Caster summoning her own Assassin, a different one is summoned). They try to solve the various mysteries from the events of the previous war while trying to survive this one and possibly find a true cure for the APTX with the Grail.
(Obviously, these take place in different time periods, but since the DCMK universe is famous for just extending time endlessly for the sake of continuation, I'll just adjust the characters and their settings to match either Fate/Zero or F/SN's period.)
Each idea has its own appeal, and I'm having trouble choosing one to focus on, so I figured, why not make a quick poll to see which one would be better received? Please leave a comment saying whether you'd like to see option 1 or 2 more, and any other feedback you might have would be welcome.
