Xylitol doesn’t remineralize the enamel/teeth.
I know xylitol doesn’t remineralize the teeth, it only kills the bacteria in the mouth that causes decay, but xylitol itself **is not** a mineral used to build or strengthen the teeth/enamel - that is the job for calcium, hydroxyapatite, fluoride etc.
Someone I’m talking to is extremely adamant that xylitol remineralizes the teeth, even after I’ve said it doesn’t. Can anyone here show a single study that concludes that xylitol is the thing that is remineralizing the teeth, and not the minerals in the saliva/toothpaste? Just one study
